Today saw the Annual Club Fur & Feather match take place on the River Wye at Belmont. With recent freezing temperatures, and an overnight sprinkiling of snow,  temperatures struggled to reach 1°C and the 31 anglers who started the match faced a cold clear river running at about 0.48m. Chub and dace were likely to be the main quarry and current Wye Champion James Robbins put together another fantastic catch of them to win the match with 108lb 3oz. chub from permanent peg 93. Runner up with a catch of 85lb 8oz from peg 81, was Dave Roberts with Chris Mayne third with 70lb 3oz from peg 96. Fourth was Ade Griffin  on peg 92 who weighed in 58lb 6oz.

Many thanks to Pete Pembridge for running the match and to Dave Roberts for helping sort the prizes. Considering the tough conditions the river fished suprisingly well with the top 20 anglers all catching more than 20lb of fish. What a river!
