Yesterday saw 24 anglers take part in the latest Club Match on both banks of the river Wye at Belmont. With the river low and clear and temperatures on the low side fishing was going to be hard. In an effort to make it a fairer match organiser Pete Pembridge decided to leave out hot peg 96 between the town bridges. Chublets, dace and perch were likely to be the order of the day and so it proved with overall winner Dave Roberts taking 68lb exactly to the scales. Runner up was Anthony Taylor with a catch of 59lb  Third was Martin Challenger with 56lb 12oz ahead of 4th placed Ray Downey with 56lb. Section winners: A section, J Cartwright 47-02, B section K Ellaby 48-10, C section, N. Garrett 54-15, D section G. Brierley 34-8.
