A club member has been banned following persistent lighting of fires whilst fishing. Open fires are not permitted on club waters, rule 12. clearly states “Anglers must not under any circumstances light fires, whether on the river banks or any other Association waters.”

Unfortunately despite several warnings the committee had no choice but to ban a member who keeps lighting fires whilst fishing on the River Wye. With the dry summer; fires pose a significant risk to nearby vegetation which could cause wild fires like we have seen in recent months accross the country.
