Revised Weekday Parking arrangements for H&DAA Members at Hereford Rugby Club 2024/2025
Thursday 7th November 2024
Around this time in 2023, the Committee of the Hereford Rugby Football Club decided to try and improve security at the Rugby Club by restricting access by motor vehicles to Belvedere Lane during the period Monday to Friday by installing a barrier with a combination lock across the track close to the entrance to the Cathedral School playing field. The only way H&DAA members will be able to access this area during this time is to take out an Associate membership with the Rugby Club at a cost of £35.00 per year. This will allow them access and also the use of the Rugby Club facilities. Members must park on the grassed area behind the Rugby Club close to the embankment and not on the RugbyClub car park which may be locked anyway.
Members can obtain this membership by obtaining an application form from Woody’s Fishing tackle shop in Whitecross Road and once completed return to Woodys with the remittance and he will issue the applicant with a parking pass and the code for the barrier.
The area will be patrolled by a private security company and if a vehicle is not displaying the appropriate pass then the vehicle risks being clamped.
The new measures will be in effect Monday to Friday only, 24 hours a day. The permit covers access to Belvedere Lane and the Rugby Club Monday to Friday only.
There is no agreement in place for any individual H&DAA member or Associate permit holder to park anywhere beyond the barrier outside of the above times and anyone doing so runs the risk of being clamped.
Access to Belvedere Lane and the Rugby Club on a Sunday for matches organised by or on behalf of H&DAA will not be affected.
The Association has a good relationship with the Rugby Club and has had regular meetings with them to try and reach a solution that is acceptable to both sides, but
ultimately it is their land, and they decide how things will be run. Please do not abuse this new facility in any way and if you come across any problems, please report them
immediately to the H&DAA committee who will seek to resolve them with the Rugby Club
