The third match of the Spring/Summer series of matches at Pencoyd Pool took place last Saturday. The weather was warm sunny and calm for the 8 anglers who turned up at the draw and with the warm settled conditions of the previous days, hopes were high of some good weights.The match did not live up to expectations with winner Ray Downey, pegged near the old island, catching 3 carp for a total weight of 19lb 4oz. Runner up was the ever consistant Dave Tyler who was pegged next to the winner. He caught one carp for a weight of 10lb 1oz. Third place was shared  by 2 anglers  with Julian Shelby-James and Martynas Valentonis both catching a single carp each to record  a weight of 7lb 6oz. The match did not really live up to expectations possibly due to the carp thinking aboput spawning due to the warm conditions during the last week. However it is still relatively early in the season so there is time for things to improve.
