With the river level going up and down over the past week, nobody was sure how the match would fish, with many thinking bleak may be the main species due to the relatively mild daytime temperatures, but with some colour in the water it was possible that the roach would feed along with the perch. At the start of the match the river was running at around 1.3m, a good Winter level, and had been relatively stable for the previous 24 hours with the temperature around 10C, so hopes were high of some decent weights of fish throughout the match length.

Following their strong showing in Round1, reigning WL Champions Woodys were expected to put in another decent performance, and so it proved with the team winning 4 of the 6 sections and finishing  second on another giving them a total of 66 points out of a maximum of 72. This was  a 10 point advantage on the day over second placed Nomads A who scored 56 points.with a section win and a second and third place.

On the individual front, reigning Wye Champion Hadrian Whittle (Woodys) fresh from his Wye Championship win last weekend came out top, taking a weight of 49lb 5oz to the scales. His weight consisted of around 5lb of bleak with the rest of his catch being a mixture of roach, perch and dace. Runner up was Jack Jones (Nomads A) with a mixed bag from peg 84 weighing 43lb.Third individually  was Dave Roberts ( Woodys) who weighed in 42lb of roach from a peg on the railings.

With Team Woodys taking the honours on the day, they consolidated their place at the top of the league with a perfect score of 24 points.  Nomads A  moved up from 4th to 2nd place with 20 points with DH Angling maintaining 3rd place with 17 points. The 3rd Round will be on December 2nd, but before that there is the 3 day Festival taking place this week 5th-7th November before the 3rd Running Line Match on Wednesday November 12th and the 2 day Pairs Match over the weekend of the 22nd-23rd November. With mild weather forecast for the rest of this week hopes are of some bumper weights, but much will depend on how much rain falls in Wales over the next couple of days. Full results below:
