Wednesday August 6th 2025.

Last Sunday saw the latest match in the series take place at Pencoyd Pool. Eight anglers turned up for the draw and were met with a bright dry day with cloud increasing throughout the day and a top temperature of 22C. After the  record top 2 weights in the last match, hopes were high of another cracking day. With regular winner Mike McLaughlin unavailable for this match the door was open for someone else to take the honours. Local match angler Julian Shelby-James stepped up and took top spot with a weight of 69lb 6oz. This was just over 5lb clear of runner up Ray Downey who took 64lb.2oz to the scales. Third was Tony Doyle with 59lb 11oz and fourth was Mick Baker with 56lb 8oz. Altogether another good match with some impressive weights.

The next match will be fished on Saturday 30th August and as usual there is a list in Woody’s tackle shop for any Association member interested in fishing any of the remaining matches.
