Pencoyd Match Results – Saturday 17th May & Sunday 1st June 2025.
Thursday 12th June 2025.
Saturday 17th May.
Eight anglers turned up for this match on a cloudy morning but long spells of sunshine were expected later in the day with temperatures reaching around 22C. With the previous two matches fishing hard, it was hoped that the warmer weather would inspire the fish to feed. As usual with these matches carp were likely to dominate catches with siver fish contributing to the total weight. Winner on the day was Mike Mclaughlin who managed 7 carp for 22lb from a peg towards the top end of the match length. Runner up was Paul Bristow who caught 11lb 5oz, from a peg towards the dam end. Third on the day was Dave Brymer who weighed in 9lb 1oz from the adjacent peg. The pool again did not fish to its full potential but hopefully the next match would fish better.
Sunday 1st June.
Seven members turnrd up for this match and were met with a cloudy and breezy day with some sunny periods expected later with a top temperature of around 19C. With the weather a bit more settled it was hoped the pool would fish a bit better than in previous matches. Mick Baker finished in runners up spot with 33lb 2oz of carp from a peg two away from the winner. Third was Dave Brymer with three carp for 19lb 13oz.from a peg towards the far end of the pool. The pool fished better than in the previous matches are high that this will be carried forward to the mext match in the series on Saturday 14th June. Well done to all who took part.
