Monday 19th August 2024.

Yesterday saw the penutimate match of the series take place on Brookmeadow Pool. Eight anglers took part on a partially cloudy day with the temperature around 18C. With the temperature slightly cooler than of late and the carp having recovered from spawning, they would hopefully now be feeding well to put on weight ready for winter.

Winner on the day was series regular Mick Baker, who has pegged just above the “island”. He landed carp to weigh in a total of 40lb 12oz. Runner up again, was Mick  Mclaughlin who weighed in another all carp catch  of 34lb 3oz froma peg next to the winner. Third spot went to Dave Brymer with a catch of 25lb 4oz, with Dave Tyler taking fourth place with 20lb 4oz.

Well done to all who took part. The final match in the series will take place on Sunday 1st September. Any member who is interested in taking part should add their name to the list in Woody’s tackle shop.
