Monday 18th December 2023.

On Sunday 10th December, the Association recently held the annual Fur & Feather match on the Belmont section of the River Wye. Thirty six anglers turned up at the Asda car park for the draw. The river had risen quickly overnight  to a height of 3.1m and although starting to drop, it was likely to be a struggle.

Winner on the day was Martin Challenger  with a weight of 29lb. Second was Geoff Brierley who weighed in 21lb 7oz. Third was Jack Jones with 18lb 3oz  and fourth was Craig Haupt  who weighed in 16lb 5oz. Bleak made up the majority of the top weights and the top five anglers all went home with a hamper. The match was subisidised by the Association meaning the rest of the entrants all received a drink.

Pencoyd Christmas Match Saturday 16th December 

Six anglers booked in for this match which was fished in mild temperatures and sunny skies. The winner was Tony Doyle who took 77lb 5oz to the scales, well ahead of 2nd placed Chris Mayne who weighed in 63lb 4oz. Third was Dave Brymer with a weight of 39lb 2oz.
